A third Hello from Holland. :-)

Postby djmoqua » Wed May 05, 2010 6:02 pm

Good evening!

Let me introduce myself: I'm Peter, live in The Netherlands and I own two Visa's. Had an Axel as well.

Started my life being driven around in Visa's, first a black one:

Later a light brown one:
Image
(Yes, the little kid on the left side there, that's me)

When I had to buy my first car, I started looking for a Citroën (of course) and ended in buying silver Visa Decapotable:
Image

This one needed a complete restoration after several years (and this restoration is not finished yet, I'll get back to that later on).
In the meantime I needed transportation, which resulted in buying an Axel ...
Image
... with which I had an accident several months later:
Image
I hit the guardrail ... twice ...

So, a new vehicle was needed:

But soon got a new layer of paint:

The chrono rims and the rearwindowspoiler where added later.

In the meantime my Decapotable is being restored, but that is taking quite a lot of time (that's my own fault, I chose the wrong person to do it).
Because of many rust (can you imagine: a Visa, with rust, I was astonished ;-)) I had to find another one for spare parts:
Image

This one turned out to have much less rust, so I changed the plan and used the original one for spare parts, which ended its life on the scrapyard:

But that is already about 3 years ago.

The latest update I received on the restoration contained this picture:

The original black layer is applied, the rest of the car will be painted white. I will also paint the bumpers, skirts and spoilers white. Probably I will restore my Chrono rims and put them under. And if I find it, a Chrono bodykit will be fitted.

If you'd like to see more pictures of the restoration, feel free to click here. You can find pictures of different things I've tried and pictures of accesoires that will be fitted, such as Morette headlights.

Ah, you might find it interesting to know my age. At this moment I'm 27.

Welcome Peter! wave

Blimey...the third owner from Holland! We are definitely an international forum now!

Anyway great pictures...especially with you Cabrio restoration. I think it will look really good with the morettes lights and if you can find one...a chrono body kit too! 8-)

By coincidence I bumped into the previous owners of my new convertible on Citromobile (last weekend). They have a huge amount of Visa stuff and may have two (!!) bodykits somewhere in stock. We exchanged email adresses, so they will contact me soon!

Hello Peter

How is life I haven't seen you for a few years - I remember your Axel and took pictures of it at the 2004 German Visa Rally:

Image Image

...it is a pity it had an accident and you no longer have it - I also remember your 11RE at Utrecht parked alongside Klaas's Axel in 2007 I think:

...we have a convertible in the UK which is painted in similar colours to your 11RE:

...how about those colours for your Cabrio? I hope your convertible restoration goes well and please keep in touch.

Yes, that's me

The picture of my Visa parked next to Klaas' Axel was indeed 2007, 'cause I was in France in '08 and '09. ;-)

I chose white for my convertible, because I think that's a posh colour. Maybe in a few years I will play with vinyl layers to change colours and/or patterns.

Hello Peter

White eh - I'm sure you will have the only white Visa Cabriolet on the road   which will be good.

Send us some more pictures of your Cabrio restoration - when do you expect to have it back on the road :?:

Tnx for the comments!

My convertible will not be the only white one, I know there's one other white one, either in Germany or in France, not sure. I can't find a picture at the moment, I think I saw it in the Dutch Visa Club magazine (Visa Versa).
Mine will become nice specs, by the way: a 14trs engine, Chrono rims, Morette frontlights and probably a Chrono bodykit. And the front bumper extension!

The photoalbum mentioned in my openingpost (this one) contains all available pictures of the restoration.

I can't say anything about the time I expect it back on the road, because that date lies about 3 years ago ...
However: I would really like to drive is this summer!
