An introduction if I may?

Postby Mille P » Fri Jan 27, 2012 7:47 pm

Good evening everybody

I came across your forum the other day while doing some Visa research, and I was intruiged to see a thread that included my Visa 1000 PISTES, B129 HFL.

I notice that there has been a fair bit of interest in the car and Mille Pistes in general, and I hope I can contribute a little to the forum over time.

Apologies if my username is a little pretentious, I'll happily change it if anybody objects.

Hi and welcome to the forum John - many thanks for joining up as, I 'm pretty sure, our only UK Mille Pistes owner. The username is perfectly fine! :D

Yes there's been some mention of your car on here and some pictures too. A quick look brings up these two threads - post3828.html#p3828 and post8096.html#p8096

Can we persuade you to bring it to some Citroën Shows/Events this year? It'd be great to see it there. :D

Thank you for the welcome.

Yes, I'd really like to bring the car to some events this year. I was hoping to take it to Race Retro again, but time and budget constraints may prevent that from happening.

I'm sure something can be arranged though.

Race Retro is a great event - haven't been for a couple of years but my particular favourite was the "Live Rally Stage" outside with all of the Group B cars going around. 8-)

I don't know where you are located, however there is a very big Citroën Show this year called this ICCCR - details here - and then there's the usual events throughout the year that are organised by the Citroën Car Club.

The next "main" show is the new CCC X Rally - details here - that bodes to have a good turnout, and hopefully Visa's too... :D

Thanks for the information. I'm in the Midlands, so the East Midlands event looks interesting.

I've spent a couple of hours trawling through the site, and I'm particularly interested in the competition Visa's, the original Citroën UK Trophee, the Mark Lovell Mille Piste, and also A385 GPD, the Press Car that I think later became Pete Littler's rally car, Does anybody know what happened to these cars? Do they still exist?

Oh wow - didn't know you were that local! It'd be great if you could make it to the X Rally. :D From the sounds of it there could possibly be a good Visa turnout there including some GTi's as well. I aim to get my red 115ch GTi there...

Mike (Mikee) is your man for that info - funnily enough in this months Citroenian (the CCC's monthly magazine) in the Vis-a-Vis Column there is content about Visa Trophee's (EGN 78X). Mike'll no doubt be along shortly...

...as our only UK Mille Pistes owner it's good to have you on board John and I hope you enjoy the forum. Before Franklin started this forum in 2010 I used to keep in touch with Jeremy Hunter, who I think imported and owned your can previously, until he sold the car - it's good to be back in touch with the car again.

Hello Mikee, thanks for the welcome. Yes, I did purchase the car from Jeremy Hunter.

I'm looking forward to reading your new thread later.
