C15d owner in France

Postby eagle3 » Wed Jan 04, 2012 9:33 pm

Hello just registered as I'm about to do the rear suspension arms on my C15 which I was given. The bearings are completely shot.

In fact the whole vehicle was in need of complete mechanical refurbishment. Previous owner keen on chasing wild boar across frozen ploughed fields with it. Engine shot due to lack of oil. Bodywork surprising good considering.

...welcome on board at long last eagle3 and it'll be good to have another C15 in the projects thread, there are one or two in there already. :D

I've just had one stolen for the second time. I don't think I'll get lucky twice. So it's time to get the other on the road.

It's got new lower arms, s/h steering rack and column, new ball joints, roll bar rubbers, driveshafts. S/H engine goes ok but smokes at start-up. Needs to be driven I think.

Made me laugh, as not something we get here in England any more, our people used to hunt them on horseback, not from a C15D van...

There was some exaggeration there. Not a lot though.

Certainly a lot of them get used on rough tracks. Not quite as good as a R4 or a 2CV offroad but close.
