The long and the short of Citroens

All things bright and beautiful

From leaving home on Friday to arriving back home on Monday the Visa and i covered 620miles; a fifth of the miles she had covered (under her own power!) since the last MoT certificate in 2004! The journey down was marred by her refusal to start after a fuel stop but she did so eventually and was allowed to rest up on Saturday as i took a trip into Cork city lounging in the back of a CX Prestige. Sunday's run took us 80miles to Kinsale and back to Cork via Bandon, along some of the narrow and bumpy coastal roads. This trip was made following an XM and i was really impressed by how the Visa handled and rode. I was left thinking that a 17D/RD would make a very acceptable daily driver.
The journey home was a bit of an epic, but in a good way. I left the hotel at 11:05 and arrived at my front door at 3:25. A non-stop 266miles in 4hrs 20min in a 28year old car which has undoubtedly never travelled so far (or so fast) in her life was impressive, as was the level of comfort; i didn't feel the need for an osteopath when i got out! And for most of the journey i was able to listen to Radio 4 on the original Philips LW radio!
All in all a very enjoyable weekend during which the Visa performed pretty well
