Chris's GTi

Postby Mikee » Tue Apr 13, 2010 12:35 pm

Hey Franklin

I hear the white GTi that your dad used to own has failed it's MOT, on what I don't know - do you? Chris the current owner has bought a red one and is turning two into one. Let's hope Chris joins the form and we'll find out more.

Good news that it will be back on the road again, both back on the road would be even better - ah well - yes?

Yes hopefully Chris will join up onto this forum. E382 XNM was a lovely car from what I can remember and I think it was definitely an improvement that we had the front grill and lights painted white to match the car. What do you think of that Mike?

Yes it did look good - sort of Mille Pistes style, which also looked good.

I remember the white one at the 50th a number of years ago.

I took my ax at the time as the Visa was not upto travelling that far.

I was going to bid on the red on on ebay last year but wouldn't have been able to pick it up at the time, what sort of condition is it in?

Looks good in the picture.

There's a chap with a Leader 1.7d near me, I looked at it about 10 years ago but didn't get it as the chap ran it on chip fat but I noticed when I was out and about at work it was in his garage so dropped a note through the letter box to see if he wanted to sell it.

...admittedly an old post but got a bit of an update with Chris' GTi's.

This morning, dad had some people come and have a look at the Vitesse that he's got up for sale, and as Chris is on the committee of the Triumph Sports Six Club and as they were Triumph people they knew him, he said to them that he sold Chris a Visa GTi and they said he's got three of them now :!: :!: A white one, a red one and a black one. She was pretty sure this new one in black was a Visa GTi but it had apparently been hit up the back and is being repaired.

Did you know he had another one Mike?

Small world 'eh? :)

...well, dad now tells me  that she said "he's got a red and black one", but she didn't know he had a white one - which now figures why.
Do you know why it was sent to the scrappy Mike - it was a nice car when we had it...

Edit - but DVLA says this:
The vehicle details for E382 XNM are:
Date of Liability 01 04 2012
