Picture of my ami 8 (I hope) just trying to work out how to upload pictures. Crikey, it worked !!

...I must have missed you posting this photo of your Ami 8 - mmm sorry about that. I nearly bought a yellow 8 a few years back, the wife even liked it, but got outbid in the end. Your's looks rather nice, when does it come off French plates :?: If you haven't spotted it yet Isaac's Ami post on here may interest you:

Yes now on English plates, GEL 599L, pictures do make it look a bit better than it is, but running well. I will have a look at Issacs post.

The front seats fit onto the original runners, easy.
The back seat squab is the same shape, but the rear backrest is one piece on the Samba rather than the two piece split fold.
I ended up removing the rear covers and then re-covering the LN backrests with the Samba material (the back is screwed on and made of steel) so I glued on the new material and secured with the steel cover over the top.

I'm going to have a go at fitting slide / tilt runners to the front seats as they just lift at the moment and as these seats have headrests they hit the roof.
You can get in the back if you slide the seat fully forwards first.
Saying that, only the dog will ever be going in the back, I don't think I could get in there!

...excellent job James. :o With the LN/A numbers dwindling to 25 that we know of plus the lack of spare seats, I will get asked by owners about seat restoration options. The How Many Left site tells us there are four times more Samba than LN/A left, but were the Samba seats easy to find :?: If you decide to take the head rests off, I have a set of seat head rest caps (Visa - so should fit) if you want them. :D

Samba seats came up on Ebay.
I was only interested because of the condition and because they were local.
Chap put them on starting at £100 and when nobody bid I went and had a look.
Paid half that for them.
The old seat material had mostly disentigrated.
I might re-cover the originals if I can find the original black and white 'Hounds Tooth' material.

Thanks for the offer of the caps, I'll bear it in mind.
I kinda like the headrests and add a bit of extra safety should the worst happen.

Time to move on the LN to a new home.
I've enjoyed owning her, but I've just done a deal on an ami6 which is a car i've wanted for some time.
I also have a Dyane, a Dyane in restoration, a Visa 652 arriving soon and not enough space!

New MOT pn sale and some road tax.

In my opinion, wants for nothing, no rust to speak of , no rot and all up together.
The picture of the back of the car is an old one, I have since had the rear valance professionally repaired

Looking for £1500.
