German Vis-a-mi Rally 2011

Postby Mikee » Mon Jun 06, 2011 10:00 pm

The German Visa and Ami Clubs are holding their 17th Vis-a-mi Rally at the usual campsite on an island in the Mosel River at Nehren on the weekend 15-17th July. I've been to the Rally three times now and have been made welcome each time, we usually hook up with Dutch Visa Club on the way. Here is a flavour from previous Rallies - some you've seen before and some are new:

...definitely worth a visit, unfortunately in recent years it has clashed with the National. :(

I've been there in 2009. It was a nice rally.

I may be attending the rally this year. In september i am going to climb the Mt. Ventoux by bicycle, and this could be a nice opportunity to do some training on climbs and descends...
I'm very busy these days, so I'm not sure yet.

...I very much intended to go this year but friends I was going with have decided not to so I'm to the CCC National instead - mmmmm it looks like rain. :( I'm definitely going next year though, as there is no CCC National for it to clash with next year. So to those who are going this weekend have a good one. :D

Thanks Mike, i bet the brakes were a bit warm after going down there :)
Could be good fun in a GTI with no one in the way :D
I have only recently done a road run with other cars and found it good fun. one was around the cotswolds with a group of Jensen Healeys , and the second was in convoy to and from the national with an Ami, a 2cv6 ,a Dyane ,a Gsa and my Bx , i found that it added something to the day.

...yes the convoy drive out on the Sunday is always good fun gary, with lots of hair pin bends on the assent and more hair pin bends on the fast descent. A UK 14TRS that went with me in 2006 boiled his breaks on the convoy half way up the assent and plodded slowly back down again to the site - very hairy. :o I'm trying to get some photos of this year's rally. :D
