Gravel ? The 4th one looks a bit grassy to me...

Remarkably restrained paint jobs for the French, apart from the 6th one - they do seem to go in for the dazzle camouflage.

Good pics Mikee.
Flat out - like a lizard drinking

Just spotted this thread Mikee.

The flying Visa is being driven by a friend of mine, Laurent Fouques, from near Evreux. He finished 2nd overall in the 1991 French, "Terre", Championship in this Mille Pistes, beaten to the title only by Bruno Saby in a works loaned Lancia Delta Integrale!

Here's another one of him from that year.

And he obviously likes flying, here's a 2008 picture of him in his Saxo T4.

His son, Julien is a student in Wrexham. He is a very promising driver, and has had a number of class wins in the Saxo T4 on UK BTRDA Championship events.

...thanks for the detail Mille P, you know there are some great inspirational Visa action photos on the net - the problem is that mostly they are just photos with little or no background history - background detail matters especially as they are from another time for most of us. :D

...does he still have the Visa :?:

I agree wholeheartedly Mikee. As to whether he still has the Visa, any enquiry of that nature elicits that evasive Gallic shrug that the French are so good at. I suspect the answer is no.

I can give you a quote from one of our e-mail exchanges, about the car;

"it's really hard to drive with this car, but when you go really flat out, something happen and change that car into a monster, and you can do an overall first place!!!!! Amazing"

I'll have to bear that in mind!

Knowing that you, and others here, are keen followers, inter alia, of Forum Auto, something that has struck me for a long time, is that the apparent number of EVO specification 1000 Pistes one sees around the internet, exceeds the 20Nr EVO cars that Citroën produced. One obvious explanation is the conversion of Series cars into EVO specification, but I intend to do a little more research on this and report back via a new thread. There was a Dutch owners register around a few years ago, but I've been unable to establish contact of late.
