Sorry chaps... I can't do it so it's up for sale on evilbay......And i'll be damned if I can get a pic up...
text from the listing....
THIS CAR was hidden under a pile of bumpers and other Citroën body parts for 12 years after it failed an MOT on a split front steering rubber gaitor.
I dug it out last year, removed. freed-up and cleaned the carburettor. pumped up the tyres, started it and drove it home!
I really wanted to get it sorted but there's no way I can do it so it has to go to a more deserving owner.
Right... Good bits.
These cars rust like mad, which is why Citroën Visa's are so rare these days and the great thing is, this car is REALLY solid. There is a tiny bit at the bottom of both rear doors, which has been thoroughly cure-rust proofed and done now, the inside top of one front wing was getting pretty thin, again, that's been done, and that's pretty much it. It is almost 'as New' underneath, and is solid everywhere!
The engine... Just brilliant, revs like a motorcycle engine, blows NO smoke at all. quiet no tappet or cam noise... In fact fabulous
The cooling system... Well, there's a hole in the radiator... It's basically shot...BUT...I have got an UNUSED Citroën Visa GT radiator still in it's box to go with the car!!!. the rest is fine.
Brakes are all good although the rear drums need a clean... They freed off OK but the wheels should ideal be removed so they can have a good scrub.
All the interior is excellent albeit a tad 'old car' smelly... Needs airing,
The car is essentially absolutely standard.
There is a complete set of alloy wheels to accompany the car which would go onto another early Visa.
BAD BITS...
The roof lining has dropped down
The black paint is scratched and marked almost all over the car... But it IS straight black so not impossible to re-paint.
The V5 may be missing... but I know the owner and it may well be hidden under a pile of papers...Worse case scenario it would cost £25 for DVLA to issue a new one...No drama, I got one for my 'new off Ebay' Honda Cub the other day, just fill in the form and send it off with a cheque... Took about two weeks and they don't even ask who the previous owner is!!!
The instrument panel electrics are a tad random... Probably an earth... I've had them all working but... You know... 12 years in a shed and all that!
lights, wipers and indicators demisters and so on are all fine.
Erm... What else... OH yeah... all four tyres go down after a week or so... There's no battery at the moment, although I do have one to start it with, there's no petrol in the tank.
Basically, you could have this car running well after half a day, ... In fact, put some fuel in the tank, connect a battery, fit the new radiator and it would drive home.... But I think for the sake of legality it needs a trailer!!!
There's no hidden agenda, it either gets sold to an enthusiast or scrapped. I've driven it, I know what's wrong (and now so do you!) and it's extremely 'do-able'...And you'd end up with a bloody nice, superbly comfortable, extremely economical little Sports car which is easily capable of out-running most 'hot' hatches today... (Did I mention it weighs 750kilos?)
