Hello!

Hello everyone.

I am Chris, I live just outside Derby on a boat. After years of thinking French cars were rubbish, out of curiosity I bought a 1989 Romahome, and was hooked! It had great seats, plenty of legroom and although painfully slow was dead easy to drive. It was nice to have a car I could fiddle with again too. I had some great adventures in this van, but it started to rot so I bought a 2005 C15 to transplant the Romahome onto.

I really liked the van, as it's only done 20,000 miles and thanks to the slightly obsessive original owner has no rust at all  . Also, after looking into the process of Romahome transplants decided I might well have spoiled both of them in the process. So I am in the process of making my new van into a dayvan so I can take it for little adventures like the Romahome used to do. First, I will find a way of fitting insulation and lining out, then I will look at fitting a back seat, then rustproofing and a roof tent.

I'll have lots of questions to ask you all, so brace yourselves! Look forward to getting to know you.

Welcome to the forum Chris, I think you're our first member who lives on a boat! Although I know that forum member Chris (Six-Cylinder) has a boat though...

Sounds like an interesting project you've got planned and should be good when finished. 8-)

There's quite a few C15 owners on here that have a lot of knowledge about them so should be able to answer the questions. :D

Hello Chris, welcome to the forum!

I know a thing or two about C15's, so if you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask!

What happened to your Romahome by the way? Do you have some photos you like to share with us?

You really should start with the rustproofing!

Hello Joost!

This is the Romahome. I still have it, after the insurance quote for my new van it looks like I might be arranging some welding!
