Leboncoin - LNA 652cc

Postby Mikee » Thu Feb 02, 2012 11:25 pm

One car we don't have in the UK at the moment is a basic 652cc powered LNA. They were never sold in the UK so it would have to be an import - and there is one for sale to the west of Paris on Leboncoin. It has a current CT and 126,000km on the clock:

Weird colour. Don't think I've seen one that colour before.

MOT has run out-that's why it's "cheap".

This one's just the other side* of Paris http://www.leboncoin.fr/voitures/158053976.htm?ca=5_s again no CT but a runner. Nice colour! They're still fairly easy to find. Much better value than a 2cv.

* actually it's about 100km the other side

Its a reasonable enough price, given that secondhand cars are much more expensive than in the UK, its a job to get anything much that goes at less than around €750.
Its had new tyres recently, and the front driveshafts have been replaced.
Only done 2500 km since the last CT, but will need new rear silencer to pass it again.
Its a while since we've seen one of those, or more likely heard one (its the distinctive engine noise you tend to notice).
Not keen on 3 door cars ourselves, probably goes back to around 1980 when the wife had about 20 years as a District Nurse, usually with a boot full of stuff, going to the supermarket on the way home and having to get the shopping in the back of a 3 door car was often literally and metaphorically a 'right pain in the ar*e' :) - much prefer the Visa.

...certainly different and it doesn't look too bad in the flesh - forum members SteveC and t_vanderzanden have Mk1 Visa in that colour:

...yes I like that colour too, it's done 40000km less and at 1986 it's five years younger, although I thought they had finished making 652cc LNA long before then - definitely a better buy:

Yes - but the ad for the blue one does say 'for renovation' - dans son jus can cover a multitude of sins!

The fact that it doesn't have a CT says a lot.

I think a lot of these cars with no CT or insurance are basically scrap and the price should be negociated around that value. You can pick them up for nothing if you have a trailor or a beaver-tail to stick it on.
