Please guys: if you are posting an item on the forum from an internet sales site such as eBay, Leboncoin, Classic and Car etc - can you also post a photo from the advert as well as the advert site address.

Often these items are not of immediate interest to forum members, soon after the sale those sites often remove the relavent info and photos leaving no reference on the forum for further use. The advert photo you posted will give that reference point for those checking it out in the future.

As this forum is a long term project, in the future you do not want it cluttered with frustrating dormant web addresses - by posting that photo you will reduce such problems.

Good idea Mike. Also, If the item has a interesting description, copy it and pop it into a quote box. That way, we'll have the description too!

When the image is removed from the site where it is listed, we will also end up with a dead link, if the photo is posted here.
The only way to solve that problem is to download the picture to your computer, and then upload it onto a hosting site like picasa or photobucket.
I think for most users that will be too complicated / time consuming.

...isn't that the way that everyone does it anyway I didn't realise there was any other way - or is it me with the age thing again.

I've just discovered something that will save us time for putting pictures from descriptions into our posts.

Firstly, here's the image that you'd like to add to your post - in this case, it's the GTi:



Right click on the image and click on Copy Image URL



Next, navigate to your photobucket account to the upload page.
You will notice that in the top left hand side of that upload box there is the option of Upload From - click on the My Computer and choose The Web instead.



Finally, paste your the Image URL into the box and click upload - Voila!
