Apparently work has commenced and it's "coming along well". :D

Unfortunately haven't had an opportunity to go over and see it yet though so no pics...

Well I got some good progress done to the GTi today, and it's taking shape very nicely indeed. It was the first time I've seen it since it's been painted, and I was very pleased indeed! :D

Image

First step, refitting front lights and resprayed them as they had faded quite a lot. The difference was very noticeable!

Looking much better with them in:

Next step was refitting all of the interior as I took everything completely out:

So the state of play is that the interior is pretty much all back in, bar the passengers seat. Must say I love the way the rear seats are fixed it - 20 Seconds a side is excellent! :D Got to fit some more trims back in that I left at home as well as the boot carpet. The grille has got to go back in, as well as the rear lights, number plate surround and number plates. There's no doubt other small things too...and then MOT this week! :D

Sorry for the poor quality photos...I only had my phone with me...

That is looking very nice Franklin, it really shows how faded the paint is on my car.

Thanks Gary - it's certainly starting to come into shape now. As much as they do look very nice in Red, the one thing is how they fade. Hopefully this'll last for a good long while now!

Even the bodykit fades! For info everyone, it's been painted in the correct combination of Rouge Vallelunga for the body and Rouge Mat for the bodykit - looks perfect and really good. :D

Tomorrow sees more reassembly being carried out...

Some more progress today. On refection it doesn't look like I've done much, but it was the fiddly detailing work that always takes the longest... :D

As above, I've got all of the lights working correctly now as some bulbs needed replacing and the spring clip that holds the headlight in needed some slight modification so the bulb was getting a good enough earth.

All of the interior is now done, which is good. Takes ages to make sure all the trims bits are fitted correctly...only takes a matter of seconds to take them out! -lol-

More assembling will be carried out tomorrow - hopefully I'll finish it, and get some proper pictures that aren't from my phone...
