The Citroen Visa Forum

I am from NZ, but now living in France. There are lots of Visas here but the 2 cylinder Clubs are getting rarer. They have a reputation for poor fuel economy.
I have had this one for 5 years and it has been reliable up to now. I got it when my GSA needed time off the road. I have now got 2 Citroens needing work. The Visa has now no spark, and I am looking at possible hints regarding the electronic ignition. I have got a good spark form the coil on the workbench and the ign switch is good so it must be the Motorola computer.
I have joined this forum in the hope that I can get it going again.

I did try looking for those ignition modules and didn't have much luck. They can't be that hard to find surely. Especially on native soil.

Good luck with getting your Visa back up and running. I think I may have a spare Motorola computer somewhere so could have a look to see if it's the same if you need one.

...I guess everyone who owns a Club or a Special keeps a spare just in case - somebody must have two spares

It might be worth asking local parts suppliers. Usually somebody knows where there's a stash.

...thinking about it, isn't €100 a lot to pay for a second hand ignition module even by French standards, considering they never really liked the Visa model (known as one of the unloved over there I believe ) - early PSA and not a real Citroën etc etc

...good point eagle3 and maybe your local 2cv group (do they have such things in France ) can help as there are lots of 2cv with Visa 652cc engines and ignition module conversions worldwide.

Did the last 2cvs have electronic ignition?

And the LN must have had it as well.

Somebody must have ordered a production run surely if the demand's that high.

...not as standard, but it is a popular conversion using the 652cc engine with the 2cv box via an adapter plate started by the Visa electronic ignition. There are often secondhand Visa boxes for sale cheaply on European web sites, mainly left over from 2cv conversions. I have one in the shed just in case - I bought it for someone else who in the end didn't want it and as it was such a good price I kept it.
