It looks like it's back to normal now, albeit a tad slow.

...October 6-7th, due to a upgrade over the last two days "View Active Topics" has not been working correctly this evening - Frugg has now fixed the fault and all is working correctly.

...8th October - sorry guys "View Active Topics" and "New Posts" are still not showing all the topics and posts correctly, will keep you updated. I've run some tests and it would appear the problem is confined to Parts for Sale/Wanted, Technical, Model Histories and Buyers Guides, Useful Links, and Brochures - Franklin will sort it out I'm sure.

I think that's fixed it.

...sorry guys if you tried to use the forum this morning and early afternoon - it would appear that it was down for maintenance.

For a free service (if that's what freeforums.org means) this has surprised me as being rather good. I remember starting forum boards in the early 00s, paying a fortune for hosting and getting very little value for money.

Do they allow you to backup and download the data in case of any catastrophic failures? I know some associates who've lost everything historical through a different free forum.

...for a free forum I agree it has been very good so far.

Indeed this was something that I looked into when I started to create the forum.

There are lot's of forum hoster's out there all saying that they're "the best" etc etc but the good things I felt with freeforums is that it is very customisable, there have up to date servers (all 25 of them! ), state of the art software, a 24/7 support section (...and very good it is too!) and they take regular back-ups every hour.

So far <touches wood> it has been behaving very well!

Sorry for the forum being down this morning - just some routine maintenance!
