Admittedly yes, there aren't too many CXs about nowadays but there's still a few.
The trouble is finding ones that are "good" cars, as they'll always be the rusty, scruffy and generally nasty condition nail of a condition cars out there. There is only a certain number of "good" CXs left, but dad is sort of "continuing" Roger's work of the CX by getting the scruffy ones, and making them "good" again. The number of people that are prepared to work on them is fairly low and as with the parts situation, it's not what you know, it's who you know! :)

Over the years we have been collecting parts for the CX so we've got a lot of parts (stored in the garage, stable and barns!). There is a bit of re manufacturing happening (obviously not in the same league as the DS though!), with an example being Darrin Brownhill getting the very hard to source gutter mouldings re-made.

...I definitely think that there will be CXs around in 20 years time - not many though as the old nails would have long gone, but there are a number of "good" cars left in sound condition.

It's strange that we're talking about CXs and prices because dad sent a letter to a Classic Car magazine about the guide prices of CXs yesterday - their condition one price was £3,800! -lol-

...DSs were a bit more shocking though, with a condition one car being valued at £8,000! :o -lol-

lol yes, in my role as Registrar of Registers, I am the DVLA contact for the 2CVGB and last week I has Classic & Sports car asking for 2CV and A series values.
They wouldn't believe that people are paying over 10K now for the right late 2CV, and that if you want a Slough its higher still.

Recently a twin engined 4x4 2CV Sahara changed hands for 40K€ so things are looking rosy.

LOL £8K for a DS? Yeah righ, just try and buy one for that. These Classic mags have their heads in their bums when it comes to anything non UK because they really don't understand that a 2CV can sell for as much as a Jag, and in some cases for more.

I'm glad someone out there is trying to keep the CX's going. Sadly my 22TRS was a hopeless case as it had spent all its life hit by scottish salt. I remember trying to open the boot once when someone was asking me about the car and whist not concentrating missed the boot button and pressed my thumb through the boot lid just above it! Good job I had a roll of gaffa tape. That car needed all of it. :-)

My list, mostly moderns, cronological order.

90 BX 16 Valve, (most unreliable car I've ever heard of)
99 Xsara 1.4 Forte. (Mrs J)
00 Xantia Activa CT, (possibly the best car I've ever owned)
01 Xsara VTS, (Mrs J)
02 C5 2.2HDI Exclusive
02 C3 1.4 SX, (Mrs J), Horrible car
03 C5 2.0 HPI Exclusive, (worst engine I've ever experienced)
87 AX Sport Rally Car, (still in my ownership)
04 Xsara 1.4 Desire (Mrs J), to replace the C3 she hated
04 C5 HDI 110 VTR Estate
88 AX Sport Rally Car, (still in my ownership). This is awaiting re shelling and a build as an AX Maxi. More parts sourced just today
05 Picasso HDI 90, (Mrs J), our first born on the way
06 C5 HDI 136 Exclusive Estate
07 C8 HDI 136 Exclusive, (Mrs J), (twin duaghters on the way). Only car I've ever ordered to my spec and waited for
07 C4 HDI 110 VTR+ Coupe, (Don't need big cars anymore, got a C8)
84 Visa Mille Pistes Rally Car, (still in my ownership)
08 C4 VTS 180 Coupe, (Diesel was just too slow). Fantastic car
91 BX 16 Valve
10 C8 HDI 136 Exclusive, Mrs J (one of the last with Navi Drive & Claudia Mistral Leather), still in my ownership. What on earth am I going to replace this with?
04 Xsara VTS Coupe, (still in my ownership). Missed the nimbleness and sheer pace of the C4, so bought this to make up for it. Fantastic car.
11 C5 HDI 163 Exclusive, (My very comfortable everyday car)

Now if I added in my Dad's the list would keep going.

I sometimes think between us we've kept Citroën UK profitable over the last decade or so!

Now, here's the wanted list.

BX 4TC. (I was offered one a few months ago for 7000 Euros).
Visa GTI
BX 16 Valve. (I just adore these)
ZX 16V, LHD import with 167 PS RFS Motor
Another Activa, maybe an import 3.0 24 Valve
XM Exclusive
CX GTI Turbo 2
DS 23 Pallas
SM
C6 3.0 V6 HDI

..... I could go on...............dreaming........
