The trouble is finding ones that are "good" cars, as they'll always be the rusty, scruffy and generally nasty condition nail of a condition cars out there. There is only a certain number of "good" CXs left, but dad is sort of "continuing" Roger's work of the CX by getting the scruffy ones, and making them "good" again. The number of people that are prepared to work on them is fairly low and as with the parts situation, it's not what you know, it's who you know!
Over the years we have been collecting parts for the CX so we've got a lot of parts (stored in the garage, stable and barns!). There is a bit of re manufacturing happening (obviously not in the same league as the DS though!), with an example being Darrin Brownhill getting the very hard to source gutter mouldings re-made.
...I definitely think that there will be CXs around in 20 years time - not many though as the old nails would have long gone, but there are a number of "good" cars left in sound condition.
It's strange that we're talking about CXs and prices because dad sent a letter to a Classic Car magazine about the guide prices of CXs yesterday - their condition one price was £3,800!
...DSs were a bit more shocking though, with a condition one car being valued at £8,000!
