Sad end for a GTi

Postby Mikee » Wed Jan 11, 2012 8:17 pm

There is a red 105bhp Visa GTi owner in Yorkshire who has had his large lock up workshop broken into. He has owned the GTi for nearly twenty years and it was last on the road in 2001. He tells me a low loader and a vehicle were stolen plus at least 4 cars cut up for scrap. The Visa GTi and a 1.9 BX GTi 4x4 have suffered the least damage having had their roofs cut off, bonnets a boot lids removed. With no keys or documentation available they cleared the building of anything they could sell plus all scrap metal including the buildings copper water pipes. The cars will go to the scrappy next week unless anyone wants to buy them for spares. I have contact details if you want them :?: :( :(

...I think so - I asked him about the 105bhp seats and of course the lights, he said he would check them out.

Now that is absolutely terrible Mike. Some people eh. So that's one less GTi for the UK then - really makes me angry when people (if you can call them that...) do this sort of thing.

Hopefully some parts can be salvaged though to help other GTi's.

Funny enough you should say that Jeroen, as when I told my dad about this he said make it into a Decap...!

I know the owner probably won't want to Mike due to the circumstances, but I wonder if he'd be willing to take a photo of the sad end of this GTi... Understandable if not though...
