Congratulations on winning the auction Grant - I think you got a bargain especially if it's as rust free and the interior is as clean as it says it is in the description. :D It doesn't look like it'd need too much TLC to get back on the road - perhaps we'll get to see it at some Shows/Events in the upcoming year?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-VISA- ... 614wt_1270
I bought this little Visa recently hoping to return it back to the road , but unfortunatly circumstances have changed and I do not have the workspace to do the jobs needed.

This would make a great little car once all the jobs are done on it , and makes a great 2CV alternative , the Visa is becoming a collectable and rare car in its own right with just 40 left on UK roads, and this particular 11RE model records say there are only 4 left . The 11RE model had sportier wheels , rear spoiler , rear wash wipe , radio cassette and side mouldings.

This Visa had been dry stored for 20 or so years before being sold to someone who like me was going to put it back on the road, they got another car though so this little Visa was surplus, which is when I purchased it. The cars structure is very solid especially considering its age and looks like its never been welded or needs any this is probably due to it being dry stored for so long. The body does have a few little scabs though but its not rotten through ( see pics ) and the paintwork has come up very well as to have the plastics.

The interior is good but definatly needs a good clean and hoover out as its very dusty, but the seats are in good condition rare for citroens of this era. Its all there and I cant see anything missing or broken. It even comes with its original stereo radio cassette.

As the car has been standing it will need some work to get it started the previous owner told me that it needs a flush out due to old fuel , he already did one in which the tank was taken out and new pump etc where put on but apparently it blocked again , he said it could be heard running with fuel fed directly into the carb, although ive not tried this. The Handbrake works and the car free rolls so it can be pushed around. The car has apparently only done 67,000 miles from new though there is no paperwork to back this up.

So there we have it a nice little project of an increasingly rare car wouldnt take much to get her back on the road and it would be great to see the little car being used after such a long break. Please take note this is a project and you wont be able to get in and drive this car home it will need to be trailered. If you want to ask any questions or come and view please message me .

Sorry to see you've got to sell Grant - it should sell as it looks to be a good basis...

This listing was ended by the seller because the item is no longer available.

What happened Grant? Decided to keep it?!! :D I saw that after a day or so it shot up to around £227...

Hi All,

I am Matt, I am the person who bought the blue Visa 11RE from Grant!!!
Quickly about me, i am french and those Citroën remind me when i was a child therefore can't bear seeing them being crushed. I would like to bring back to life any old Citroën but as an Hobby noit a business!!!!
I only collected the car last week and manage to start it. It run absolutly fine now!!! Doesn't more of stall etc...I also solved the issue with the rear washer pump. Nothing wrong with the pump just the actual tube carrying the water throught to be unblocked. I purchased a new fuel sensor for it which should come next week...hopefully!!
I am personally more a 2cv man myself but also like my car to be different to anyone else. I drive my D reg Plum & Custard 2cv (Weather permitting) and a Renault Avantime 3.0 V6.
I want to bring this Visa back to life but will your help in finding parts.
I sourced a few bits already in England and France but need help in finding others parts.
The parts i am looking for are as follow:
4 very good wheels (3 Holes) Doesn't matter about the tyres just the rims
A windscreen washer pump
A Rear wiper motor (the one on the car is gone!)
I don't expect anything for free, willing to pay for them of course

Once i managed to find and fit the parts above, i will take it for to an MOT station to find out what else if there is, need doing

Thank you in advance for your help

Hi Joe,
as you may have guess, i am the new owner of your old Visa.

Do you know when it was last MOT'ed and did you ever took it to an Mot station? If you did, have you got an idea on what it failed?

Would very much appreciate your help!
Matt

Hi Matt, you can check the MOT History yourself actually on the DirectGov website - see here - all you need are a few details and you can find out all of the history since it's been on the electronic system. :D

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1984-CITROEN- ... 6159wt_368
24hrs AUCTION
VERY RARE Citroën VISA 1.1RE 1984 FOR SALE
NO V5,MOT OR TAX!!!!!
This little car is in really good condition considering its age.
was last on the road according to the DVLA in 1991!
I cleaned the carburator, fitted a new battery and guess what? that little star has started and drives......unbelievable!!!!!
I took it for a little drive on a private road and everything seems ok except the brakes. don't worry, it does stop very well however, the rear left wheel blocks easily. But remember that the car hasn't been driving for 20 years! I reckon that the brakes need to be taken apart, cleaned and then the brakes shouldn't be an issue. (Maybe some new front disc, rear drum pads wouldn't hurt for what they cost)
All the electrics works!!! Once i have fitted the battery all the lights were working, didn't have to change 1 light bulb!!! The original radio is also working has it should be. Have to be seen to believe it!!!!
The body, once again is really good. yes of course there is some little patches, and i mean little, of superficial rust but absolutly nothing to worry about, once again unbelievable for the age of the car. The chassis is excellent, no trace of ever being welded and doesn't need to either. A genuine solid car!!!
The bad points which i am aware of and wish to inform you of:
Front windscreen washer pump doesn't work.
Rear wiper motor doesn't work either
The fuel gauge doesn't work. this is simply because the fuel sensor in the actual tank isn't present!!! I purchased a brand new one which will be included in the sale!!!
The rear boot doesn't stay open
The bonnet can be hard to open
Tyres are ok and not cracked! wheel rims could do with replacing or refurbished, up to you.
I only had the car for a week now but for the people who know me, i decided that my real hobby is my 2cv's!!!! This is the only reason why i have decided to let it go, real shame!!!! This would be a very collectable car and once MOT'ed a nice everyday car without having to spend a fortune on it.
The car is in Walsall, West Mids and can be viewed by appointment. please mail me any questions you may have
Boring bits now: I will not stop the auction, i don't have a buy it now figure, i won't break it!!! GRAB YOURSELF A LOVELY LITTLE COLLECTOR'S CAR
£100 non refundable deposit 2hrs after the auction end, then remaining balance cash on collection. Car to be collected by NEXT WEEKEND
Forgot to mentioned: According to the website howmanyleft? they are only 4of them on the road (3 taxed and 1 sorned) making it even more rare!!!!
Also, over the last 2 weeks i purchased a few parts which will be included in the sale
1 wheel bearing, 1 rear wheel cylinder, 1 set of 3 filters(oil, air &fuel), Haynes manual book (New), Owner handbook (used) and as mentioned above a new fuel sensor, 1 new water pump and maybe more depending on some auctions who are still running. Please note that i purchased those parts as spare!!!! I like to buy and stock spares in my garage for when i need them instead to wait for a breakdown!!! that's all, it doesn't mean that they are required. Only because the car is getting rare the parts will aswell one day. I do the same with my 2cv!
Items won added to the sale: Rear Bendix Brakes Shoes
maybe more to come. will add to the list as and when if i win more auction

Sorry to see you're selling Matt...
