Visa 11RE :( has to go!

Postby Joe_602 » Tue Nov 15, 2011 2:10 pm

well it appears that i have no option but to sell my Visa 11RE, reluctantly i will add!

i was planning on getting it officially running (more than a mile) getting a new set of tyres on it and getting its minor couple of electrical faults sorted and actually using it, but time and money are against me and i still have a dyane to repair and get back on the road too and the dyane takes favour over the visa! sorry guys!

currently it needs a new starter motor as i may have killed the old one... however i have been keeping an eye out on the net and there are some second hand and new ones appearing on the net not too dear either so if i can get one and fit it i will!

the main cause of the running problems is the fuel tank, due to the car being sat in a garage for 20 odd years with no attention at all during this time, there was some "crystallised" crap in the bottom of the tank which was red in the tank, then with the tank drained and the crap sloshed and cleaned out it eventually dried and turned into sand... however i hadn't got all of it out and tried to run the car afterwards and although it ran ok and very well compared to before dropping the tank... it did die... after i'd driven it about 1 mile down the road from the workshop and had to then push it... uphill the mile back!

right

problem areas

* front windscreen washer pump doesn't function - has power but the motor is dead..
*rear wash/wipe also not functioning... the motor makes a noise but doesnt squirt and the rear wiper doesn't work.
* fuel tank sender was rotten and didn't work when i bought the car and has since been removed from the tank, however there are sellers on ebay who sell the original part and not too expensive either!
I bought and fitted a new offside headlight unit, however the unit was from greece and is a LHD unit not RHD although im sure this can be corrected with some reflective tape!

everything inside the car works as far as im aware! all dashboard and buttons/levers work as they should!

it is also the very first of the "normal" dashboard style cars instead of the satellite pod dash cars!

Bodywork wise, the car is absolutely sound! No major rust/rot anywhere that i could find, it does have the odd bit of surface rust (patina) in little patches and a scabby section on the offside rear Sill but nothing with holes!

it does also still need a spare wheel!

open to sensible offers! basically it owes me £400 as it is because it cost me £205 almost a year ago and then it was another £100 for transporter hire and £100 in diesel there and back to collect the car!

if your interested send a pm

if not i'll stick it on ebay and see if anything happens with it there!

Cheers, Joe :)

Well it made £190 - cheap I think considering the rust free condition and it's history.

Any one on here buy it? :?:
